CAD Technician/Drafters

We are seeking detail-oriented and skilled CAD Technician/Drafters to join our design and engineering team. The CAD Technician/Drafter will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting and design, proficiency with CAD software, and a strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.

• Drafting & Design: Create and revise technical drawings, schematics, layouts, and plans for various projects (e.g., architectural, mechanical, electrical, or civil) using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to interpret and implement design concepts into detailed CAD drawings.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare accurate, detailed, and clear drawings and specifications for use in project construction, manufacturing, or implementation.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all drawings and designs comply with industry standards, local building codes, and project specifications.
• Version Control: Maintain organized records of all design drawings, revisions, and changes, ensuring that the most current versions are readily available for project teams.
• 3D Modeling: If applicable, create 3D models and visualizations of designs to help illustrate concepts, improve communication, and facilitate better decision-making.
• Drawing Modifications: Make revisions to existing drawings based on feedback from project teams, clients, or regulatory agencies.
• Documentation & Reports: Assist in preparing technical documentation and reports for project proposals, project reviews, or regulatory submissions.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all drawings comply with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards, and that necessary approvals are obtained.

• Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in drafting or CAD design, with a strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, MicroStation, or similar platforms).
• Strong understanding of drafting standards, technical drawings, and design principles.
• Familiarity with building codes, industry regulations, and safety standards (depending on the industry).
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with project teams and clients.
• Ability to follow instructions and collaborate within a team environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management).
• Experience with 3D modeling and visualization software (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks, SketchUp, etc.).
• Certification or training in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional, Revit certification).
• Experience in a specific industry such as civil engineering, construction, architecture, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and related software tools.
• Knowledge of parametric design and advanced drafting techniques.
• Ability to create and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints for different types of projects.
• Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).
• Experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), especially for civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
